Our podcasts are available to our thousands of free subscribers (and others who join us), but we do have some exclusive related content typically below the firewall at the bottom of these posts for our hundreds of paid subscribers! ⏱️ 24-minute-long podcast
Typically, each week, site publisher Jon Fleischman, a veteran of California politics for over three decades, brings on a guest for a one-on-one interview focused on some aspect of California politics or policy. This week, Jon takes a break from his usual routine to bring you a special 25-minute solo podcast, where he provides a detailed analysis of the current state of the Proposition 50 campaigns.
Jon, of course, is a partisan — as a constitutional conservative and Republican. He’s a former regional Vice Chairman and former Executive Director of the California Republican Party. But Jon is known for his candor, especially when engaging in political analysis, and in this “must listen” podcast, Jon walks through why the campaign is not going so great for opponents to Prop. 50 right now, and also takes a deep dive into why that is the case. He closes with a discussion about what happens if Proposition 50 passes — because the fight at the ballot box is not the last fight to defeat the cynical measure.
I’m experimenting with uploading podcasts to different platforms. At the bottom of this post, you'll find links to the podcast on Apple Podcasts and Spotify, as well as a YouTube upload.

Real Time Election Turnout Data
Thanks to our friends at Optiq here is a dashboard that gives you access to more data about the Prop. 50 election turnout than you could possibly want. (By the way, it’s actually counter-intuitive to write a word that ends in a q. Who knew?)
Looking up donors and how your home is impacted…
Cal-Matters has the greatest dashboard for this kind of realtime information…
Their funding dashboard is updated all of the time, and you can interact with it to get more data.
And below — well you can see where I punched my address into their nifty tool and you can see where I currently live in a Republican district represented by Congresswoman Young Kim, but how I will be gerrymandered into a Democratic district represented by Congresswoman Linda Sanchez.
Finally, my favorite No On 50 Video, which has appeared on this site before, but you cannot share it enough…
