New Year’s Day — A Note of Thanks

And a reminder of what's in store for SDIM readers this year!

Before you scroll past, I’d encourage you to take five minutes and watch the short video above. It’s a personal New Year’s message, and I think it’s worth the time.

Happy 2026!

I hope you had a great holiday season and were able to spend meaningful time with family and friends. Like many of you, I am enjoying ringing in the new year with a little college football — and who doesn’t appreciate a good upset now and then (unless you’re a Buckeye)?

More importantly, I wanted to take a moment to thank you.

Whether you’ve been reading my work for decades — going back through the FlashReport years — or you’ve just recently discovered So, Does It Matter?, I genuinely appreciate you choosing to spend your time here. I don’t take that lightly.

This project is built on trust. There’s no newsroom, no corporate owner, and no political handler. It’s subscriber-supported, which means my accountability is to you — the readers.

I’m clear about where I’m coming from, but I’m committed to facts, consistency, and serious analysis. Even readers who disagree with my political conclusions often tell me they keep reading because they trust the work and its honesty.

That trust matters to me, and I intend to keep earning it in the year ahead.

If you haven’t yet, I hope you’ll take a few minutes to watch the video above. It explains what this project is, why it exists, and why your time and support truly matter.

Thank you for being here — and here’s to what’s ahead in 2026.
