It’s the end of the second full week of Does It Matter? It’s been a lot of fun providing insights and analysis of (mostly) California politics. Since last weekend, I have penned a dozen items. The top six are linked below, in case you missed them. I would encourage you to share Does It Matter? with other people you think would enjoy it!
Before I give you links to this week’s “greatest hits,” I thought I would share a fun video produced by my friend Chris Cillizza (he has a great Substack now called So What, but I got to know him as a “California source” when he was with the Washington Post and CNN. He’s not a conservative or a liberal voice. Just a shot-caller.
Okay, not onto the week that was…
Governor Newsom decided to announce that, despite the profligate spending he has advocated for, that it was President Newson’s tariffs that were responsible for the state’s red ink…
A new weekly feature for Does It Matter? - A profile of a prominent California conservative patriot. There was no doubt who should be the first one…
The single-state-in-a-single-nation quixotic jihad by Newsom and the progressive left continues unabated with all who live here paying the price. Which could now be gas prices exceeding $8 a gallon…
If you need a sign that the Democratic Party is still firmly in the clutches of crazy people, look no further than their doubling down on advocating that biological men must be allowed to play in competitive female sports, because they have “declared” as a woman…
And then there is the complete debacle which is Gavin Newsom on the issue of the homeless — sorry, “housing challenged” here in California…
Finally, earlier in the week all of the announced Democrats running for Governor (sans the undecided Kamala Harris) went to Sacramento and prostrated themselves in front of union leadership. I don’t have words… Well, actually I do…
Even in just the last week there were also posts on how Dems are using tens of millions of dollars to literally subsidize liberal news rooms, Gavin Newson’s lie that he is cutting spending on Medicaid for illegal aliens, the cluster that is Bay Area pubic transit, and some trouble decisions voted on by the late Supreme Court Justice David Souter. Here’s a link to main page of Does It Matter? if you want to get to those, and more!
