This is why CA Democrats oppose making sex trafficking of 16 and 17 year olds a felony…

Earlier I asked how Democrats could possibly oppose making it a felony to sex traffic 16 and 17 year olds.

It turns out the answer has been online since Wednesday, if you knew where to look. Nobody seems to be more influential amongst Democrats in the California State Capitol than left of left wing State Senator Scott Wiener who (of course) represents San Francisco. To any normal group of people he would be.considered “fringe” and his would be marginalized because his views are so extreme. But in the State Capitol someone like this is made Chairman of the powerful Senate Budget Committee. Want something in the Budget, better not upset Wiener!

You literally can’t make this up. First of all what kind of jacked up kid does what Wiener is saying here? But Wiener is apparently unaware of the fact that law enforcement officers and prosecutors have discretion on what they charge people with - and he thinks that some (admittedly weird) sophomoric behavior annoy be discerned from legitimate primal activity.

It really makes you ponder if there is some other unstated reason that Wiener opposes this.

Either way it should give everyone pause that alleged adults in the Democrat caucuses in our State Capitol would use this warped logic to oppose strong laws to protect all minors from becoming victims of sex trafficking.
